Estimates of over $10,000 was raised for Breast Cancer Awareness during the “Pink Out” game and weeks prior to the Coffee County/Lincoln County game this past Friday. A huge crowd attended the game and with the help of the Future Business Leaders of America at CCCHS, Farm Bureau Insurance and many other businesses and individuals the thousands of dollars were raised.

With that being said there was also a football game to be played. Lincoln County Jumped to a 1st quarter advantage as they drove 88 yards after a Coffee County turnover to take a 7-0 lead. The Falcons would later add a field goal for a 10-0 lead. After the kickoff went out of bounds the Raiders drove 75 yards for a TD. Freshman QB Alontae Taylor had two big plays in the drive. The first was a 45-yard pass to Cole Hawkins and later Taylor would scamper 14 yards to cut the margin to 10-7 with 3:28 to play in the second period.
In the second half Lincoln County scored the only points in the half on TD run in the 3rd quarter to make the final 17-7.
Lincoln County who came in passing more than running the ball only completed five passes on the night for 87 yards. The Falcons however got the running game going rushing for 243 yards on 43 carries.

One huge problem for the Raiders was the loss of starting FB/LB Mill Harner. Harner twisted an ankle and struggled moving side-to-side in the first half and could not play in the second half. Fellow teammates Reese Pratt and Justin Flowers played extremely well all night with Pratt earning the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game.
Offensively Taylor rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown. According to Thunder Radio stats, Alontae has 1,098 yards on the season.
The Raiders will host Shelbyville Friday in the final home game of the season, it’s Senior Night for 15 players.

US Bank surveillance picture of the female trying to cash the check.

Last week Manchester Police responded to a call at US Bank. A bank employee told police that a person in a Toyota van was trying to cash a check on a closed account for $195 at the drive-thru window. The employee ask the female driver for an ID, which she did. The teller questioned the woman about the picture not looking like her and the teller ask the female to come into the bank to sort things out. The woman said she could not come in the bank because she had somewhere she needed to be and left the bank.
The female left the ID and the check with the teller. The ID belonged to a Carla Fowler from Franklin County.
Office Ernie Colvin made contact with Fowler and she stated that someone broke into her car and stole her pocketbook a couple of weeks ago. She stated that her child support card was in her purse and it was used in Tullahoma for a purchase of $140 on October 5. The manager and an employee of the store the purchase was made at confirmed through a picture that was taken from US Bank surveillance that the female trying to cash the check was the same person that made a purchase at their store.
Manchester Chief Investigator Billy Butler said in an email that this is an on-going investigation with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Police have developed suspects in this case and plan to make an arrest or arrests in the not so distant future.

A blazing motorhome fire on eastbound I-24, between Beechgrove and Manchester shutdown traffic on I-24. It’s not clear what happened, but the incident occurred around 5:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon, October 18, 2014.motorhome1
Prior to the Coffee County authorities arriving on the scene, a slow stream vehicles passed within 10-feet of the inferno. If someone slowed to a stop, the drivers behind them started honking. All of the time, you could hear explosions from within the motorhome–each causing the flames to get higher and wider across the adjacent lanes of traffic.
WMSR Radio reached out the Tennessee Highway Patrol several times but got no response. When details are released by the THP we will post it on this website.
