Raiders Fall On Pink Out Night– Thousands Raised

Estimates of over $10,000 was raised for Breast Cancer Awareness during the “Pink Out” game and weeks prior to the Coffee County/Lincoln County game this past Friday. A huge crowd attended the game and with the help of the Future Business Leaders of America at CCCHS, Farm Bureau Insurance and many other businesses and individuals the thousands of dollars were raised.
With that being said there was also a football game to be played. Lincoln County Jumped to a 1st quarter advantage as they drove 88 yards after a Coffee County turnover to take a 7-0 lead. The Falcons would later add a field goal for a 10-0 lead. After the kickoff went out of bounds the Raiders drove 75 yards for a TD. Freshman QB Alontae Taylor had two big plays in the drive. The first was a 45-yard pass to Cole Hawkins and later Taylor would scamper 14 yards to cut the margin to 10-7 with 3:28 to play in the second period.
In the second half Lincoln County scored the only points in the half on TD run in the 3rd quarter to make the final 17-7.
Lincoln County who came in passing more than running the ball only completed five passes on the night for 87 yards. The Falcons however got the running game going rushing for 243 yards on 43 carries.
One huge problem for the Raiders was the loss of starting FB/LB Mill Harner. Harner twisted an ankle and struggled moving side-to-side in the first half and could not play in the second half. Fellow teammates Reese Pratt and Justin Flowers played extremely well all night with Pratt earning the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game.
Offensively Taylor rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown. According to Thunder Radio stats, Alontae has 1,098 yards on the season.
The Raiders will host Shelbyville Friday in the final home game of the season, it’s Senior Night for 15 players.
