A blazing motorhome fire on eastbound I-24, between Beechgrove and Manchester shutdown traffic on I-24. It’s not clear what happened, but the incident occurred around 5:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon, October 18, 2014.motorhome1
Prior to the Coffee County authorities arriving on the scene, a slow stream vehicles passed within 10-feet of the inferno. If someone slowed to a stop, the drivers behind them started honking. All of the time, you could hear explosions from within the motorhome–each causing the flames to get higher and wider across the adjacent lanes of traffic.
WMSR Radio reached out the Tennessee Highway Patrol several times but got no response. When details are released by the THP we will post it on this website.
