Middle School JV Finishes Undefeated
The Coffee County Middle School JV soccer team completed a perfect season on Saturday as they won the CTC JV soccer tournament at the CCMS Field. The Lady Raiders, who came into the tournament as the top seed, faced off against Tullahoma in the opening round. The Lady Raiders got 2 goals from Julia Duncan and a goal from Maddie Jones to advance to the finals by a score of 3 to 1. Homecoming 2014 for Coffee County High School will be remembered for several things including an outstanding football game. The Raiders defeated Stone Memorial 24-21 after a terrific defensive effort on the game’s final play. The Panthers went for it on 4th down from the Coffee County 15 with only 4 seconds remaining. LB Mill Harner was able to knock down the pass in the end-zone to secure the win. Tonight is the Homecoming football game for Coffee County High School. The game is set for 7pm at Carden-Jarrell field. The Raiders are hosting the Stone Memorial Panthers from Crossville. Crowning of the King and Queen will take place at halftime. Last night a huge pep rally was held at the downtown square in Manchester. Middle and High School Volleyball Action On Thursday
The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders wrapped up their volleyball season Thursday night with a home floor win over Harris Middle. Set score were 25-8 and 25-11. Abigail Layne had 5 aces and Haley Richardson finished the night with 3 kills and an ace. Coffee County finished at 12-3 for the year. The JV team also won 25-13 and 25-9. Cross Country Season Continues For Raider Runners
The Coffee County CHS boys Cross Country team finished 3rd out of 8 teams on Tuesday at Arrowhead Ranch in Normandy. The Red Raiders placed 3 runners in the top 10 led by Any Rossum who completed the 3.2 mile course in 20:30. Maxwell Nicoll and Scott Randolph crossed the line at 6th and 7th respectively. Westwood Soccer season ends in DRVC Tournament
The Westwood Lady Rocket soccer season came to a close on Wednesday afternoon in Unionville as they fell to Community 4 to 1. Westwood got on the board first in the 17th minute on a goal by Jessica Barrera off of a deflection in front of the Viqueens net. Community tied it four minutes later to send the match to the half even at 1. Tuesday afternoon in front of the student body at Coffee County High School the Lady Raiders took on Eagleville in volleyball. The very hard fought 5 set match went in Favor of Eagleville. Coffee County won sets one and four, 25-22 and 25-20. Eagleville picked up wins in sets two, three and five by scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 15-9 in the deciding 5th set. Local Golfer To Play For National Championship
Ashley Gilliam of Manchester, who attends Coffee County Middle School has done it again. She has qualified for the Drive, Chip and Putt National Championship. Ashley Gilliam made the National Finals last year in the Drive, Chip and Putt inaugural competition and finished 3rd overall. This year in her attempt to make a return trip to Augusta National, Ashley won the local qualifier in Chattanooga and the sub regional in Smyrna to advance to the regional finals at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, GA.
