Westwood Soccer season ends in DRVC Tournament

The Westwood Lady Rocket soccer season came to a close on Wednesday afternoon in Unionville as they fell to Community 4 to 1. Westwood got on the board first in the 17th minute on a goal by Jessica Barrera off of a deflection in front of the Viqueens net. Community tied it four minutes later to send the match to the half even at 1. Westwood controlled the tempo in the first 5 minutes of the second half getting several shot attempts but they could not get the advantage goal. Lady Rockets keeper Faith Willoughby played strong all night as she stopped 5 shots in the first 15 minutes of the second half. Community finally got the game winner in the 49th minute before adding two late goals to make the final score 4 to 1. Westwood’s season comes to a close as they finish with a record of 2 wins, 3 losses and 3 draws.
