The Motlow Bucks will host the No. 25 team in the nation Tuesday night when Wallace State-Hanceville visits Copperweld Arena. Tipoff for the non-conference contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., or 20 minutes following the conclusion of the women’s game. Friday night at the Joe Frank Patch memorial gymnasium, Coffee County hosted Cannon County in high school basketball. It was a difficult night for both Raider teams as the girls lost 66-53 and the boys fell by a score of 67-45. The Lady Raiders only trailed by three at the end of the 3rd quarter but saw Cannon County pull away in the 4th. Coffee County Swimmers Win Meet
Coffee County’s swim team were impressive on Thursday night as both the Lady Raiders and Raiders went undefeated in the 10 team match at Marshall County. The ladies are 15-4 on the season with the boy’s record standing at 13-6. The best finishes on the night were the Lady Raiders winning the 200 yard freestyle relay and finishing 2nd in the 200 yard medley relay and 400 yard freestyle relay. On Friday the Motlow College basketball teams traveled to Cleveland St. The Lady Bucks fought hard but dropped the conference game 62-55. In men’s play Motlow was playing with only 5 players because of a 2-game suspension of 7 players because of an altercation that took place in a game a week earlier. The 5 players got the win for Coach Matt Sligh, 82-78. Clint Nwosuh led the Bucks with 28 and D’andre Downey had 20 and 17 rebounds. Raiders Split Games With Fayetteville
Coffee County hosted Fayetteville in high school basketball on Thursday night. In the first game the Lady Raiders took a big lead into the dressing room at halftime, leading 32-13. Tyger Fenton scored 12 of the 32 first half points. Coffee County spent most of the night at the free-throw line, shooting 22 of 40. The Lady Raiders improved to 2-2 on the season with the 69-38 win. Seven Buck Players Suspended As Road Trip Begins
The Motlow Bucks and Lady Bucks will take their first road trip of the basketball season together when they travel to southeast Tennessee this weekend for a pair of Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) contests. Motlow will head to Cleveland Friday night for a pair of games against Cleveland State before landing in Chattanooga Saturday afternoon to face Chattanooga State. Coffee Middle Sweeps Tullahoma’s East Middle
Anytime Manchester and Tullahoma battle in any sport, at any level, you expect a battle to the bitter end. Tuesday night’s the Red Raiders of Coffee Middle School added another nail-biting battle on the basketball floor at East Tullahoma.
