Middle School Golf Season Wraps Up Season

The Middle School golf season came to a close on Monday in the Conference Tournament hosted by Westwood and Coffee Middle and played at Willowbrook. In girls play, Harris Middle edged Westwood by 1 stroke to claim 2nd place with a score of 114. North Franklin won the girls tournament with a 109. Coffee Middle came in 4th carding a 126. Huge Baseball Tournament Starts Thursday For Motlow

The Motlow Bucks will face the host school, Georgia Perimeter, in the opening round of the NJCAA East Central District baseball tournament on Thursday, May 15 at 2:30 p.m. central time at Jaguar Baseball Stadium in Covington, Ga. The four-team tournament will decide the East Central representative in the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association JUCO World Series, scheduled for May 24-31 in Grand Junction, Co. Three Raiders Named To All District Baseball Team

With the conclusion of the Coffee County Central High School baseball season, the District 8-AAA coaches recognized 3 Red Raiders for their outstanding play this season. Named to the All-District 8-AAA team were seniors Hunter Smithson and Kyle Douglas; while senior catcher Tyler Cavender was named the District 8 Co-Offensive Player of the Year. Lady Raiders Win Softball District Championship

After 4 scoreless innings on Wednesday night, Riley Gusich hit a 2 out solo homerun for Lincoln County. That hit seemed to wake up the Lady Raiders as they sent 12 batters to the plate in the bottom of the 5th scoring 9 runs and propelling the Lady Raiders to a District 8AAA title with an 11 to 1 win over Lincoln County. Coffee Middle Track Teams Pick Up Wins

The Coffee Middle School track team traveled to Warren County for a dual match on Tuesday sweeping the Pioneers. The girls defeated Warren County 83 to 13 while the boys got a 64 to 32 win. Lady Bucks Looking For New Coach

Motlow College has begun the search process for a new women’s head basketball coach, according to Tori Raby-Gentry, athletic director at the College. Aaron Holland will not return as coach after two seasons as leader of the Lady Bucks program. Holland, who came to Motlow after five seasons as a member of the staff at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, compiled a 7-43 record as head coach of the Lady Bucks. “We will start a nation-wide search for a new women’s basketball coach immediately,” said Raby-Gentry. “We are looking forward to finding someone to rebuild our women’s basketball program.”...
