The first annual Sports Radio “The Ticket” (our sister station), Sports Expo presented by the Stan McNabb Automotive Group was held at Northgate Mall in Tullahoma on Saturday. The Celebrate Party Store Stage saw many special guests interviewed by our staff. The FREE event saw 100’s of people attend and enjoy the day. The Coffee County Lady Raiders are headed back to the TSSAA State Tournament. The softball ladies defeated Cookeville 2-1 Friday night to punch their ticket to the Spring Fling in Murfreesboro. Brianna Jones struck out 12 allowing just one run as she picked up the win. Jones added a hit and knocked in Kaylee Skipper for an RBI. Anna Spellings scored the second run on a throwing error on the Cavalier catcher. Jones was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center Player of the Game. Lady Raiders Win The Region 4-AAA Championship
The Coffee County Lady Raider’s softball team moved one step closer to a state tournament bid with 4-0 win at Oakland on Thursday night in the Region 4-AAA championship game. Junior Pitcher Brianna Jones was again outstanding striking out 13 giving her 347 on the season. Catcher Tori Bell was named the Gateway Tire and Service Player of the Game as she had 2 hits and an RBI. Coffee County High School Track Team Sends Two Athletes To State Meet
The CHS Girls Track team continued their strong 2014 campaign at the Sectional meet at Riverdale on Tuesday. The Lady Raiders sent 3 athletes to the sectional meet competing in 5 events and ended up earning 3 spots in next week’s Spring Fling. Senior Haley Banks qualified for the state meet in the 100M Hurdles and Shot Put while freshman Karson Young qualified for the Triple Jump. Coffee Middle Track Team Wraps Up Regular Season
The Coffee Middle School Track teams hosted Warren County on Tuesday in their final regular season meet. The Raider teams swept Warren County by scores of 68 to 28 for the girls and the boys won 58 to 38. Several 8th graders were not available as they were attending the academic banquet. The Coffee County Lady Raiders hosted the defending Class-AAA state softball champs, the Smyrna Lady Bulldogs on Monday night in the Region 4-AAA tournament. Brianna Jones was strong at the plate and on the rubber in carrying the Lady Raiders to a 1-0 victory over the Lady Bulldogs.
