The Coffee County Lady Raiders hosted the defending Class-AAA state softball champs, the Smyrna Lady Bulldogs on Monday night in the Region 4-AAA tournament.
Brianna Jones was strong at the plate and on the rubber in carrying the Lady Raiders to a 1-0 victory over the Lady Bulldogs.
Brianna led the Lady Raiders offensive threat with a key single in the sixth inning that led to the winning run as Jones’ courtesy runner Grace Spellings scored on a passed ball.
Jones kept Smyrna off the scoreboard for all seven innings for the shutout, striking out 6.
Haley Hinshaw, Brittany Williams and Anna Spellings added hits for Coffee County.

The Lady Raiders will travel to Murfreesboro to take on Oakland Wednesday night for the Region 4-AAA championship. The Lady Patriots came from behind to beat Lincoln County Monday night 7-6. If Coffee County wins they’ll host the sectional game on Friday it not they’ll travel.
