Coffee County High School Track Team Sends Two Athletes To State Meet

The CHS Girls Track team continued their strong 2014 campaign at the Sectional meet at Riverdale on Tuesday. The Lady Raiders sent 3 athletes to the sectional meet competing in 5 events and ended up earning 3 spots in next week’s Spring Fling. Senior Haley Banks qualified for the state meet in the 100M Hurdles and Shot Put while freshman Karson Young qualified for the Triple Jump. Banks will run in the 100M Hurdles preliminaries at 5:00 PM on Wednesday (May 21st) then come back at 9:00 AM on Thursday (May 22nd) for the Shot Put. Young will compete on Thursday at 10:15 AM in the Triple Jump. Additionally, Banks qualified for the Pentathlon earlier this month. The Spring Fling Pentathlon begins competition at 10:00 AM on Monday.
