Coffee Middle Battles To Tie Warren County In Soccer

The Coffee County Middle School soccer team remains undefeated, but a Saturday draw with Warren County provided the first blemish in 7 matches this season. The Lady Raiders and Lady Pioneers battled to a scoreless tie in the 1st half before The Lady Raiders got on the early in the 2nd half. Jenna Garretson fed Julia Duncan on a beautiful cross and Duncan’s goal gave the Raiders a lead they would protect until the 55th minute. WOW!! Thrilling Coffee County vs Columbia Football Game

Coffee County came up just short on Friday night in high school football. The Raiders hosted 11th ranked Columbia in District 8-AAA play. In the very high scoring game the Lions took the lead at 50-42 with 27 seconds left. Senior Jimmy Hollandsworth, who started at quarterback the first two games of the season switched to TE against Columbia. The Westwood Rockets got 2 touchdown passes from 7th grade quarterback Jake Hollandsworth but it was not enough to overcome Cascade as the Rockets fell 30 to 12.  Cascade scored on their first 2 drives of the game to race out to a 14 to 0 lead on a game heard here on Thunder Radio. CCMS Volleyball team got a 2 set win over Fayetteville on Thursday afternoon. The Lady Raiders won by set scores of 25-11 and 25-20.  Amanda Mukai led the way for Coffee Middle as she scored 7 aces and 2 kills. Skylar Bell served up 8 aces while Shannah Frame had 3 assists, 1 kill and 2 aces. With the win, Coffee County’s record improved to 9 and 3 on the season. Raiders Host District Golf Match

The Coffee County girl’s golf team beat Tullahoma 148-211 Thursday at WIllowbrook. Hollee Sadler shot even-par 72 and Savannah Quick carded a 76 to lead the Lady Raiders to their 59th win of the season. In boys action the Red Raiders played well but not as well as defending region champ Lawrence County or rival Tullahoma. The final score Lawrence County 310, Tullahoma 320 and Coffee County 322. CCCHS Volleyball Drops Match At Eagleville

On Wednesday afternoon the Coffee County volleyball team traveled to Eagleville to take on the Lady Eagles. Eagleville picked up the win three sets to one, 25-15, 25-17, 11-25 and 27-25. Coffee County Central High School Claybusters Banquet Held Recently

The Coffee County Central High School Claybusters hosted their end of season banquet on Saturday night at Boskey’s.  The Claybusters, in their 8th year of existence, won state championships for both state sanctioning bodies of juniors trap shooting (SCTP and AIM).  In addition to their 2 state championships, the Claybusters qualified for the AIM national championship.  AIM is the only sanctioning organization that hosts a national championship. Sometimes a tie feels less than fulfilling in middle school soccer, but Westwood got a goal in the last minute to get a much desired draw against Fayetteville on Tuesday night at Dyer-Bouldin Field.
