Jones Tosses No-Hitter But Coffee County Falls To Tullahoma

Brianna Jones threw her 5th no-hitter of the year on Thursday night in the District 8-AAA softball championship game, but it wasn’t enough to carry the Coffee County to a win as they fell to Tullahoma 2-1 in Tullahoma. The Lady Cats scored both runs on 3 Lady Raider errors. Jones threw a no-hitter, striking out 13 batters and walking none. Tullahoma’s Mo Edde got the win. She allowed one run over seven innings. CCMS Track Sweeps Warren County on Thursday

In middle school track action the Coffee County Middle School track teams played host to Warren County on Thursday at Carden-Jarrell Field. The Raiders and Lady Raiders each defeated Warren Co. The Lady Raiders won 69 to 27, while the Raiders won 60 to 36. CHS Tennis Falls in Region Tournament on Thursday

Lady Raiders Will Play For The District Title In Tullahoma

If Coffee County wanted a chance to win a softball district championship, it had to first defeat Shelbyville before taking on Tullahoma. Brianna Jones threw a shutout and allowed only 2 hits to help the Lady Raiders to a 1-0 victory over the Eaglettes Wednesday night in Columbia. Westwood Tennis and Softball Fall on Wednesday Night

The Westwood Rockets tennis teams dropped their final scheduled tennis match of the year on Wednesday night in Fayetteville.  The Rockets could not get a match win against Riverside Christian as the boys fell 8 to 0 while the girls fell 9 to 0.  2015 was the inaugural season for Westwood tennis and Coach Justin Winton was proud of the progress his team made throughout the season.  Winton said that he saw improvement in all the players of which few had any tennis experience at all.  Coach Winton is holding out hope that a previously cancelled matches with Shelbyville...

Four 1st half goals staked the Coffee County CHS soccer team to a 4 to 1 halftime lead and a furious 2nd half Shelbyville rally fell short as the Red Raiders defeated the Eagles by a final score of 5 to 3 on Wednesday night. CHS Track Qualifies 3 for Sectional Meet

After Day #2 of the TSSAA Sub-Sectional Track meet at Riverdale, 3 Lady Raider thinclads have qualified to move on to next week’s Sectional track meet at Rhea County. Both the Raider and Lady Raider teams completed the field events on Monday, while the Lady Raiders finished the running events on Tuesday. The Raider runners return to Riverdale on Thursday.
