If Coffee County wanted a chance to win a softball district championship, it had to first defeat Shelbyville before taking on Tullahoma. Brianna Jones threw a shutout and allowed only 2 hits to help the Lady Raiders to a 1-0 victory over the Eaglettes Wednesday night in Columbia.
In the third inning Coffee County pushed across their only run of the day on an RBI single by Haley Hinshaw to score Shelby Giles.
The Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game was Giles.

In game one of a possible two for the District 8-AAA championship Coffee County took on Tullahoma. The Lady Cats defeated the Lady Raiders 2-0 on Saturday. This time Coffee County picked up an exciting 1-0 victory. The Lady Raiders scored their only run of the game on an RBI single by Jones in the first inning. Jones was masterful in the pitching circle as she gave up just one hit. She was named the player of the game.

Coffee County at 29-5-1 on the season will take on the Lady Cats again tonight in a winner-take-all matchup. The game has been moved from Columbia to Tullahoma and will start at 7pm. You can hear the game live on Thunder Radio.
