Sounds Split Doubleheader With Sky Sox

The Nashville Sounds and Colorado Springs Sky Sox split a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon at Security Service Field. The Sounds fell in game one of the doubleheader, 5-4, when Orlando Arcia belted a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning. Nashville returned the favor in game two with an 8-1 win. A six-run fourth inning and complete game effort from Dillon Overton highlighted the win. Lady Raider Softball Gets Comeback Win on Senior Night

It was not easy, in fact it looked nearly impossible at one point; but the Coffee County Lady Raiders overcame a 6 run deficit to beat Franklin County 8 to 7 on Senior Night at Terry Floyd Field on Tuesday. CHS Soccer Held Scoreless at Shelbyville

The Red Raider soccer team had several scoring opportunities in the 2nd half, but could not notch a goal as they fell 1 to 0 to Shelbyville on Tuesday night in Shelbyville. The battle between the last 2 unbeaten teams in the district lived up to the anticipation as a Golden Eagle goal in the 15th minute gave Shelbyville all the offense they would need on the night. For the 2nd day in a row, the Coffee County baseball team went toe to toe with nationally ranked McCallie before falling on Tuesday evening 3 to 1 in Chattanooga. The Raider and Lady Raider tennis teams spilt a match with Tullahoma on Tuesday night as the Lady Raiders claimed a 6 to 1 win while the boys fell 4 to 3. In girls’ play Maddie Taylor, Ai Shelton, Kayla Wright and Makayla Morgan all captured singles wins while the doubles teams of Shelton/Taylor and Morgan/Wright were also victorious. After losing a pair of heart-breaking decisions to Tullahoma last week, the Lady Raiders of Coffee County Middle School bounced back in a big way with a 7 to 5 defeat of the Lady Cats on Tuesday night in the 2nd round of the CTC softball tournament at CCMS. A pair of runs in the bottom of the 7th inning spoiled the upset bid for the Coffee County Middle School baseball team on Tuesday night as they fell 3 to 2 to top-seeded Warren County in the 2nd round of the CTC baseball tournament. For the 2nd time in 2 weeks, the Coffee County Middle School tennis team squared off against the Westwood Middle School tennis team on Tuesday afternoon at the Raiders’ home court behind the Raider Academy.
