Lions Bowl Is Set

The 47th Annual Semmes-McKenzie Lions Bowl freshmen football game will be played on Tuesday October 23rd, 2012 at Wilkins Stadium in Tullahoma. This will be a doubleheader featuring four of the top freshmen football teams in the mid-state area. The first game will start at 6:00 pm when the Hendersonville Commandos will play the Ninth Grade Academy Falcons from Fayetteville. The second game will begin at 8:00 pm and feature the Riverdale Warriors from Murfreesboro and the Shelbyville Golden Eagles. Westwood traveled to Eagleville Tuesday night to take on a very good Eagle team. The Rockets fell behind early in the first but battled back to take a 1 point lead going into half. The Coffee County Lady Raiders soccer team is headed to the region tournament and will play for the District 6-AAA championship. Coffee County defeated Cookeville last night on the road 4-2. The Lady Raiders jumped to a 3-0 lead before Cookeville came back to cut it to one goal. Later in the match Coffee County would score one more to seal the win. The Westwood Middle school boys played a very sound basketball game against a very good Community team on Monday (Oct. 15, 2012).
