Thursday night at Coffee County High School the annual football awards banquet was held. Two of the many awards handed out were the Raider Award, an annual award presented by Thunder Radio and the Gateway Tire and Service Center/WMSR MVP. The Raider award is given to a player that not only excels on the field, but also in the classroom and or contributes time and energy to community projects. This year’s winner was Junior Mill Harner. He was an outstanding RB/LB and also holds a 4.0 GPA. On a side note Mill took the ACT exam as an 8th grader and scored an amazing 27.
The MVP was given to Freshman Alontae Taylor. He led all freshmen in the nation during the regular season with over 1,600 yards rushing. The Gateway Tire “Horizion” award was given to Senior Justin Flowers. The award is presented to a player who overcome difficult adversities in their life.
Congratulations to winners at last night’s Red Raider football banquet.
