Coffee County Baseball and Softball District Tournaments

The District 8-AAA baseball tournament begins Thursday night at 6pm for the Coffee County Red Raiders. Big Red will host the winner of the game between Franklin County and Shelbyville. That game is tonight. In district softball action the regular season champs, Coffee County Lady Raiders will play the winner of the Friday game between Tullahoma and Lawrence County. Motlow Sports Update

Hayden Pewitt drove in the winning run with a two-out, ninth-inning single and the Motlow Bucks advanced in the TCCAA/Region VII Tournament with a 7-6 win over Cleveland State at the Driver Baseball Complex on Saturday. The Bucks were down 6-3 going into the bottom of 9th and managed to score 4 times for the win. The win came on the heels of Motlow’s 8-4 win over the Cougars on Friday and completed a sweep of their tournament-opening series. Local Runners Finish Marathon

See the story below the picture Some of the student’s from Coffee County’s Hickerson Elementary School participated in the Country Music Kids Rock Marathon Sunday in Nashville. The 48th Mid-State Rotary/Rudy Hensel Invitational Track Meet was held on Saturday in Tullahoma and Coffee County competed along with 7 other area schools. In girls competition, Coffee County did well in the field events and finished 2nd overall. In boys action, a skeleton crew from the Coffee County roster competed strong finishing in 5th place. Lady Raiders Win District 8-AAA Regular Season Softball Championship

Haley Hinshaw racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Coffee County Central Lady Raiders as they beat Lincoln County 5-0 on Sunday. The win earned Coffee County the regular season District 8-AAA championship. Hinshaw hit a 3-run homer in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning. Shelby Giles added an RBI double. Coffee County Classic Friday was a big day for Coffee County Lady Raider Pitcher Brianna Jones. Brianna threw her 5th no-hitter of the season in the Coffee County 2-0 victory over Daniel Boone in the Coffee County Classic. She also struck out 10 batters. Westwood opened play in the Big Southeast Conference Tournament on Saturday with a 9 to 1 defeat of Liberty. Lexi Medley had a 2 run home run for the Lady Rockets and it would be all the runs Westwood would need as Raven Rogers got the win striking out 6 in 6 innings of play while allowing only 2 hits. Coffee County baseball played host to LaVergne on Friday for Senior Night. The Wolverines got 2 unearned runs in the top of the 1st inning and that was enough to spoil the party as LaVergne went on to win 5 to 1.
