Coffee County baseball played host to LaVergne on Friday for Senior Night. The Wolverines got 2 unearned runs in the top of the 1st inning and that was enough to spoil the party as LaVergne went on to win 5 to 1. The Raiders got their lone run in the bottom of the 1st inning as Zack Holder doubled home Wyatt Day who came on as the courtesy runner for Tyler Cavendar who also had a double earlier in the inning. The Raiders were held to 5 hits as Hudson Rollman was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. Kyle Douglas and Tyler Bradshaw added singles to round out the hitting for Coffee County. Coffee County will travel to Riverdale on Monday for a non-district matchup. The Raiders open the District 8AAA Tournament at home on Thursday at 6 PM as they will play host to the winner of Shelbyville and Franklin County.
Nine different Red Raiders found the back of the net as the CHS Soccer team blasted Lawrence County on Saturday by a final score of 9 to 1. Scoring for Coffee County were: Mateo Senegas, Michael Garcia, Breyer Taylor, David Morgan, Cole Hawkins, John Paringer, Chris Freimuth and Ethan Hickman. With the win, Coffee County finished the regular season in a tie for 3rd place in the district standings. Due to the tiebreaker system, Coffee County will unfortunately have to travel on Saturday to Shelbyville for a 1st round District 8 Tournament game. The Raiders will first close out the regular season with a trip to Murfreesboro on Thursday night to take on Siegel in a 7 PM non-district match.
