The Coffee County Middle School Red Raider baseball team completed the series sweep of North Franklin on Tuesday night with a 17 to 3 win over the Gators in 5 innings. The Red Raider bats banged out 11 hits on the night as Tyler Surber went 3 for 4 with 6 RBI and Andrew Mahaffey was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI. An awesome effort by Brianna Jones carried the Coffee County Central Lady Raiders to a 7-1 win over Lincoln County on Tuesday. Jones got the win for the Lady Raiders thanks to 13 strikeouts. Jones allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over seven innings. She was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game. Raiders Suffer District Baseball Loss
The Coffee County Red Raider baseball team grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning over Lincoln County on Tuesday in Manchester. That advantage held up until the Falcons scored one run in the 5th and two more in the 6th for a 3-1 lead. In the 7th Lincoln County scored twice and Raiders pushed across one for a final of 5-2. It took nearly 3 weeks, but the CHS Red Raider soccer team FINALLY hosted a game on their home field on Monday night as the JV team played host to Middle Tennessee Christian. The Raiders scored 3 goals in each half to capture a 6 to 1 win over the visiting Cougars. A pair of Moore County pitchers hurled a no-hitter to drop Westwood softball in Lynchburg in middle school softball action on Sunday. J.P. Duncan and Wyatt Day combined for a complete game no-hitter on Saturday as the Red Raider baseball team won their first game of the season 10 to 2 over Stratford.
