Coffee County Basketball Earns Senior Night Sweep of Tullahoma

The Coffee County Central High School Red Raider basketball team has had its ups and down this season.  But a revenge win over Tullahoma on Friday night helped ease some of the hurt on Senior Night.  Coffee County led the entire game to capture the 36 to 24 win before a large and rowdy crowd at the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gym.  The Red Raiders used five 1st National Bank 3 pointers in the game to earn a season split with the Wildcats.  Coffee County was led in scoring by senior Wyatt Day who finished with 19 points as...

Predators Fall in OT to Tampa Bay

Steven Stamkos scored the tying goal late in the third period, Tyler Johnson won it 1:04 into overtime and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Nashville Predators 4-3 on Friday night for their ninth straight home win. J.T. Brown and Nikita Kucherov also scored for the Lightning. Ben Bishop made 27 saves to give him a victory over all 30 NHL teams. Jack Beachboard to Compete In State Swim Meet This Weekend

CHS swimmer Jack Beachboard will compete at the Tennessee Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association State Championships this weekend being held at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville. The Coffee County freshman will compete in the 200M Individual Medley on Friday morning and the 100M breaststroke on Saturday. Friday’s preliminary race is the 6th race scheduled for the 9:30 AM session with the finals scheduled for the 6 PM session. The Coffee County Central High School basketball teams will close out the regular season this weekend as they prepare for the postseason. The Raiders and Lady Raiders begin with Senior Night tonight at the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gymnasium. On Saturday, both Coffee County teams travel to McMinnville to take on Warren County in a 3 PM non-district matinee. Coffee County Fastpitch League to Hold Signups Saturday

The Coffee County Fastpitch League will hold signups this Saturday from 9 to 2:00 at the Ada Wright Center at Fred Deadman Park in Manchester. The Coffee County Fastpitch League is for girls ages 4 through 14. Parents wishing to sign up their child will need to bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate. The league is broken up into 4 age groups from instructional league to middle school age girls. Spring Sports Update

The cold weather and snow can only mean one thing, spring sports are just around the corner.  Middle school spring sports squads have been working out for almost 2 weeks as they prepare to begin their sports seasons on February 29th.  The Coffee County Middle School baseball team is the first to open the scrimmage season as they travel to Siegel on Saturday for an 11:30 doubleheader.  The varsity plays first with the JV to follow weather permitting.  CCMS baseball coach Rodney Meeker will be a guest on Saturday morning’s Coffee Coaches Show to talk about the upcoming season....
