The cold weather and snow can only mean one thing, spring sports are just around the corner. Middle school spring sports squads have been working out for almost 2 weeks as they prepare to begin their sports seasons on February 29th. The Coffee County Middle School baseball team is the first to open the scrimmage season as they travel to Siegel on Saturday for an 11:30 doubleheader. The varsity plays first with the JV to follow weather permitting. CCMS baseball coach Rodney Meeker will be a guest on Saturday morning’s Coffee Coaches Show to talk about the upcoming season.
Speaking of baseball, the Coffee County Red Raider baseball team is having a makeup baseball tryout on Monday February 15 from 3 to 6 for all students at high school and freshman Academy that didn’t tryout in summer. The tryout will be held at Powers Field behind Coffee County Central High School. Students wishing to tryout will need to bring glove and cleats.
