The Coffee Co. soccer team won their first district game of the year at home Tuesday against Cumberland County, 3-0. Junior Ricky Ramirez scored on a free kick from 20 yards out to open the scoring, and Ramirez added another goal from the same distance after receiving a pass from Pedro Martinez. The Motlow Lady Bucks will face two of the nation’s top teams during the next week when they travel to Fyffe, Ala. to battle 24th-ranked Wallace State on Thursday and then host No. 1 Chattanooga State on Tuesday at the softball complex in Moore County.
