CHS Wrestlers Win 2 of 3 Matches at Shelbyville on Friday

The CHS wrestlers traveled to Shelbyville on Thursday night for a quad meet with Tullahoma, Franklin County and the host Eagles.  The Raiders dropped a 69 to 12 decision to state-ranked Tullahoma.  Austin Payne(wrestling at 182 pounds) and Dustin Seals(285) had pin fall wins for Coffee County to account for the Raider points.

The Raiders edged Shelbyville 45 to 36.  Chase Pruitt(152) and Brandon Baumstein(113) got forfeit wins.  Joel Singleton(126)got a decision win while David Tate(138), Owen Teague(132), Nicholas Damron(120), Joshua Tobitt(195) and Austin Payne(170) got pin fall wins.

Against Franklin County, Coffee County benefitted from 7 forfeit wins in a 57 to 24 win.  Red Raiders getting the “walk-overs” were Jacob Rice(160), Ethan Garner(170), Trenton Garner(220), Dustin Seals(285), Brandon Baumstein(113), Nicholas Damron(120) and David Tate(138).  Joel Singleton(126) gutted out a 4 to 2 decision win while Joshua Tobitt(195) and Austin Payne(182) got pin falls wins.  Payne was 3 and 0 on the day with 3 pins.  The Red and Black grapplers travel to Smyrna on Tuesday to take on Warren County and Smyrna.  The first matches will begin at 6:00 PM.
