Making quick work of Franklin County, the Coffee County Central High School volleyball team advanced to Thursday’s District 8AAA semifinals with a straight set win over the Rebelettes. Coffee County won by set scores of 25-9, 25-13 and 25-16 to set up a matchup with Lincoln County on Thursday night in Lawrenceburg. The Lady Raiders used a strong net game as they stunned Franklin County with 47 kills on the match.
Coffee County was led at the service line by Bailey Morgan who served up 4 aces. Kaylee Skipper had 3 aces while Aerial Williams and Rachel Henley each added 2. Alliyah Williams led the team in kills with 14 while Aerial Williams added 8. Bailey Morgan led Coffee County in assists with 26 and Tyana Fenton led the Lady Raiders in digs with 6.
The win is the 20th match win of the year for Coffee County as they improved to 20 and 14 on the season. The Lady Raiders will advance to the district semifinals on Thursday as they have a 6:30 PM match with Lincoln County. A win in that matchup would advance Coffee County to Thursday night’s finals. Both the finals and semifinals will be held at Lawrence County High School. Should the Lady Raiders make it to the finals, they would advance to next week’s region tournament.
