CHS Golfer Ashley Gilliam
Coffee County Central High School sophomore Ashley Gilliam used a bogey free back 9 on Sunday to win the Toyota Music City Junior, a 36-hole stroke-play event conducted by the American Junior Golf Association at Richland Country Club. Gilliam rose from an 8th place tie after Saturday’s round to the top of the leader board on Sunday after carding a 3-under-par 69 in the final round. Gilliam, a Mississippi State verbal commit, went bogey-free in her back nine finishing with a tournament total of 3-over-par 147. Gilliam drained 5 birdies in Sunday’s final round to end up on top of a field of 24 golfers that hailed from 8 different states and 3 nationalities.
