Funeral services for Mr. Ricky Lee McCurry, age 58, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Virgil Alford officiating. Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM until time of services on Saturdayat the funeral home. Mr. McCurry passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Bedford County, TN. Mr. McCurry was born in Grundy County, the son of the late Gerald and Barbara Bean McCurry. He worked in the construction industry for Biscan Construction. Ricky enjoyed fishing, UT football, and Atlanta Braves baseball. Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sheila Banks McCurry of Manchester; two sons, Rodney Lee McCurry of Beechgrove and Cody Allen McCurry of Manchester; one daughter, Delana Holt; one brother, Timmy McCurry of Huntland; one sister, Rita Williams of AL; four grandchildren, Tanner Lee McCurry, Hayden Nicholas McCurry, Willa Dawn McCurry, and Emma Marie McCurry; and several nieces and nephews. 9/26/14 —- Ashton Brady Holder
Ashton Brady Holder of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama at the age of 20.
Brady was born in Tullahoma, Tennessee to Dwight and Gail Branch Holder who survive.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Jeremy Holder; and two grandfathers, Bryce Holder and Robert Branch.
In addition to her parents, Brady is survived two sisters, Britney Shey Holder of Tullahoma, and Christie Prosser and her husband Josh of Tullahoma; grandmothers, Doris Holder of Tullahoma and Jennie Branch of Tullahoma; two nieces, Bryleigh Holder, Kensley Coker; and four nephews, Will, Blake, and Channing Green, and Logan Prosser.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26th, 2014 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home with the funeral service to immediately follow at 1:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marvin Davenport officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

9/26/14 —- Vera C. Fuller
Mrs. Vera C. Fuller, age 86 of Tullahoma passed away Wednesday, September 24 at NHC in Tullahoma.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 26 at 11:00 AM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Smithson.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM until service time.
A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late William Aubrey and Sally Beatrice Bondurant Chrisco.
She worked for many years at Genesco as a machine operator. She also owned and operated Fuller’s Bait Shop. She was an active member of Westwood Church of Christ. She loved her church and her church family. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden and taking care of her lawn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin York Fuller who passed away in 1976; one brother, James Douglas Chrisco and one sister, Catherine Womack.
She is survived by two nephews, Wayne Chrisco and his wife, Teddi of Winchester and Jimmy Chrisco of Manchester; four nieces, Diane Fletcher and her husband, Richard of Tullahoma, Rita Chrisco of San Diego, CA, Cindy Zeintak and her husband, Dave of Columbia, and Pam Brayton and her husband, Bruce of Tullahoma; several great nieces, great nephews and cousins and her loving friends at Westwood Church of Christ.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Westwood Church of Christ, 1605 W. Lincoln Street, Tullahoma, TN. 37388.

9/22/14 —- Douglass Hugh (Doug) Wurst
Douglass Hugh (Doug) Wurst — Age 71 of Tullahoma, TN, passed away at home on September 22, 2014, after courageously battling cancer for eight years.
No services are scheduled.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Eileen Wurst, and twin brother, Cliff Wurst.
He is survived by his loving wife, Leslie, of Tullahoma and devoted son, Cory Jackson, of Nashville, TN.
Born on October 17, 1942, in Dearborn, Michigan, he received a B.S.E. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. In the mid-1960s, he and twin brother Cliff moved to Manchester, TN, as co-op students at Arnold Engineering Development Center (AECD). He was a computer programmer at the AEDC von Karman Gas Dynamics Facility; a professional musician; and a programmer analyst at the University of Tennessee Space Institute in Tullahoma, TN, where he met his future wife, Leslie Anne Sharber of Goodlettsville. Doug and Leslie married in 1978 and, in 1985, their son Cory Jackson was born.
Doug was an accomplished and enthusiastic engineer, entrepreneur, mathematician, woodworker and carpenter, guitar player, and barefoot skier. He and friend Robb Garrett conceived, designed, and built two 20-foot custom ski boats. He was a member of the American Barefoot Club of the American Waterski Association and even at age 69 continued to barefoot waterski while battling cancer. Doug was a guitarist and vocalist in the 1960’s band, “The Uncalled For,” whose music was revived in recent years leading to the band’s performance at the 2011 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.
Doug was a gentle, patient, and masterful teacher and mentor who gave generously of his time and talents to anyone who asked, from high school math students to water ski novices. He was most proud of the 1905 home and property, overlooking Ovoca Falls, which he restored and renovated alongside his wife Leslie, and the character and accomplishments of his son, Cory, who carries on his father’s barefoot skiing tradition.
All our gratitude to the physicians and nurses at Tennessee Oncology, St. Thomas Hospital, the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, and many devoted friends and family, who tenaciously and lovingly supported and cared for Doug.
9/26/14 —- Elliehue Hollis, Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Elliehue Hollis, Jr., age 84 of Manchester, TN will be conducted Friday, September 26, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Benny Benjamin officiating.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 PM until time of services at 4:00 PM.
Mr. Hollis passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 13, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Elihu “Huie” Hollis, Sr., and Elizabeth Todd Hollis Fournier.
Mr. Hollis joined the United States Air Force and prior to deployment to engage in the Korean Conflict, he courted Miss Helen Haley and the two married on July 25, 1951. Later, he was employed as an Industrial Electrician at the Ford Truck Plant in Louisville, KY where he retired January 1, 1991. “Hollis” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, enjoyed woodworking, hunting, electronics and wine making. He was an avid Nascar fan and was a member of the UAW Local 862. He was a loving husband and father who will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Norvel Hollis; a sister, Virginia Hollis all from Cannon County, TN; a son, Jeffrey Wayne Hollis and a grandson, Jason Hollis Armstrong.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Helen Haley Hollis; two daughters, Karen Hollis Armstrong and Cathy Hollis McKee all of Manchester; grandchildren, Bobbi Chesser, Brandi Armstrong, Cory McKee, Alec McKee and Becky Morris; great-grandchildren, Asa McKee, Skylar and Jaybird Morris, Cara, Rylan and Jason Chesser; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Major William C. “Bill” Robinson
Major William C. “Bill” Robinson, a decorated WW-II veteran, passed this life on Sunday, September 21st, at his residence in Tullahoma.
He served 27+ years with the military and was a retired assistant professor at Motlow College.
Bill Robinson was born in 1922 in Alfred, a college town in western New York state. After graduating from High School as Salutatorian, he completed two years at New York State Ag-Tech Institute, then enlisted in the Army Air Force as a flying cadet in 1942. He flew 40 combat missions as a bomber pilot during WW-II against the Japanese in the South Pacific.
Among his decorations are the Distinguished Flying Cross, seven (7) Air Medals, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Philippines Liberation Medal and Philippines Presidential Unit Citation while flying with the 494th Heavy Bomb Group (B-24 Liberators) and serving in the 7th Air Force, the 5th Air Force, and the 13th Air Force.
At the end of the war Bill married the love of his life, Barbie, and remained in the active reserves while attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He was recalled to active duty in U.S. Air Force (USAF) as non-commissioned officer (NCO) in 1950; shortly thereafter he was reinstated as a 1st Lieutenant in non-flying status. He served for the next 14 years in the USAF Nuclear Weapons Program in various operational assignments, research and development, and at Headquarters – Air Force Logistics Command.
Major Robinson earned his Master’s degree (MBA in Engineering Management) from the USAF Institute of Technology and was assigned as Chief of the Programs Office at AEDC in Tullahoma, TN. Lastly, he served as the Commander of the USAF Eastern Test Range Tracking Station, Antigua, West Indies. He retired from the Air Force in 1969 and joined the original faculty at Motlow College where he taught for eight years as an assistant professor. Then he started a small business, “Bill’s Wood’N’Rocks”, handcrafting furniture and fine jewelry.
Bill was a follower of Jesus Christ and member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, where he sang in the Chancel Choir for 37 years. He was also an avid singer in Barbershop Harmony, and sang for more than 10 years with the “Country Hams” barbershop quartet.
He was a life-member of the Retired Officers’ Association and the American Legion. He was a long-time member of the Board and Treasurer of the Haven of Hope, a shelter for abused spouses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Stephen Robinson and Lenora Grace Robinson (Howland), his sister Doris E. Colden, and by his wife, Barbara Manchester Robinson.
He is survived by five children: William Stephen Robinson (Sharon), Alan Ward Robinson (Sharon), Donna Robinson Sanders, Thomas Edward Robinson (Traci), and Judith Robinson King; 16 grandchildren: Stephen Anthony Robinson (Christine), Karen Marie Baker (Cole), Kristen Therese Goodman (Mike), Richard Michael Robinson (Sloan), Anastasia Robinson Woo, Vanessa Robinson Woo, Yancie Abbott Sanders, Elizabeth Grace Carr (TC), Timothy Andrew Robinson, Cynthia Marie Robinson, Joshua Thomas Robinson, David Matthew King, Donavon William King, Lillian Judith King, Jeffrey L. Riffe (Cynthia), and Franklin Ray Sanders, Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 4th, 2014 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Tullahoma at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott James officiating.

9/25/14 —— Lena Martin
Mrs. Lena Martin of Lynchburg passed away Monday September 22, 2014 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.
A native of Moore County she was the daughter of the late John Allen Johnson and Mary Jane Stone Johnson.
She was a Riveter during WWII known as “Rosie the Riveter”. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her sons; Robert Elijah Martin and his wife Charlene of McMinnville, Kenneth Martin and his wife Linda of Tullahoma, daughters; Mary Ruth Broderick and her husband Robert of Park City, Bobbie Jewel McGee of Lynchburg, Hiawatha Alice McGee of Lynchburg, Dorothy Ann Hise and her husband Richard of Moore County and Lynn Elizabeth Oakley and her husband Kim of Newnan, GA. 28 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elijah Martin.
The family will receive friends Wednesday September 24, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home.
Services will be held Thursday September 25, 2014 at 2 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Luria officiating.
Burial will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery in Moore County.

Christopher Eugene Baker age 52 of Tullahoma, passed away Saturday September 20, 2014 at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Slaughter officiating.
Burial will follow at Welker Cemetery.

Mr. Baker a native of Coffee County was the son of the late Len “Doodlem” Baker and Seleta Beavers Wallace. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Manchester.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jack and Elma Beavers, paternal grandparents, William and Loder Baker and niece, Jill Baker.
Mr. Baker is survived by his Mother, Seleta Wallace and her husband, John; three brothers, Billy Baker and his wife Neidra Baker, Frankie Beavers and his wife, Tammy and Phillip Baker and his wife, Tonya; four sisters, April Smith and her husband, Kirby and Cheyenne, Lakota and Stormy Wallace; fiancé, Mary Scalf; two nephews, Coltin Beavers and Wade Smith; four nieces, Caitlin Beaver, Leigha Dickerson and Baily and Candra Baker; two great nieces, Johnna Baker and Jana Dickerson; six stepchildren, Michelle Benson, Jessie, Wesley and Coty Stovall, Marisa Thompson and Randy Scalf and one grandson, Kaeson Benson.

Jack L. Buckley, age 77 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on September 17, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
Mr. Buckley was a retired Contractor and a United States Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved being with his family and friends.
He was born in Washington, Indiana to his parents, the late Thomas Buckley and Flacie Price Buckley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marth L. Buckley; brothers, Terry Buckley, Larry Buckley, Ron Buckley, Dan Butler, Gene Butler and Earl Butler.
Mr. Buckley is survived by his sons, Richard J. Buckley of Hapeville, Georgia and David J. Buckley, Sr. of Manchester, TN; two grandchildren, David J. Buckley, II and Meagan L. Buckley both of Manchester, TN; one great-grandchild, Kaylee G. Buckley; other relatives, Tammy Buckley, Melba Buckley, Roger Buckley, Randy Buckley, Trevia Buckley Lindell and Michell Buckley; and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Lucille Hollis, age 91, of Manchester, will

Mrs. Hollis passed away Sunday afternoon at Medical Center of Manchester.
Wilma was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Tommie A. and
Dollie Mae Bush Stacey.
She retired as a seamstress at Eden Industries. She was a member of the New Union Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, flowers, cooking and baking, and reading, especially her Bible.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hollis was also preceded in death by her
husband, Jodie Elmer Hollis; and one grandson, Jodie Elmer Hollis, III; one
brother, Elmer Pruitt “E.P.” Stacey; and one sister, Gladys Stacey
McCullough. She is survived by three sons, Jodie E. Hollis, Jr. and Michael
(Tunya) Hollis, both of Manchester, and Thomas Hollis of Dayton, TN; two
daughters, Wilma (William) Gibson of Christiana and Wanda (Roy) Workman of
Chattanooga; one brother, Bobby (Merle) Stacey of Shelbyville; two sisters,
Linna Geneva (Bob) Feltner of Manchester and Betty (Bill) Driver of
Murfreesboro; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great,
great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
