Mrs. Lena Martin of Lynchburg passed away Monday September 22, 2014 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.
A native of Moore County she was the daughter of the late John Allen Johnson and Mary Jane Stone Johnson.
She was a Riveter during WWII known as “Rosie the Riveter”. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her sons; Robert Elijah Martin and his wife Charlene of McMinnville, Kenneth Martin and his wife Linda of Tullahoma, daughters; Mary Ruth Broderick and her husband Robert of Park City, Bobbie Jewel McGee of Lynchburg, Hiawatha Alice McGee of Lynchburg, Dorothy Ann Hise and her husband Richard of Moore County and Lynn Elizabeth Oakley and her husband Kim of Newnan, GA. 28 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elijah Martin.
The family will receive friends Wednesday September 24, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home.
Services will be held Thursday September 25, 2014 at 2 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Luria officiating.
Burial will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery in Moore County.
