8/17/16 — A C Rogers

rogersFuneral services for Mr. A.C. Rogers, age 70 of Manchester, will be conducted on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Jim Rolen officiating. Burial will follow in Manchester City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. Rogers passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Rogers was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Tullahoma. He retired from Batesville Casket Company after working 37 years. A.C. enjoyed spending time with his family and had a love for fishing.

Preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mary Ida Rogers; brothers, Michael Rogers, J.W. Rogers, H.B. Rogers and Jerry Rogers; sisters, Dean Jones and Jean Agents. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Bonnie L. Rogers; son, William Paul Rogers; daughter, Sheila Ann Mukai (Dean); grandchildren, Gage Rogers, Justin Mukai, Matthew Mukai, Amanda Mukai; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Marie Rogers; brother-in-laws, Clyde Jones and Ronald Agents; sister-in-laws, Wanda Rogers, Vivian Rogers and Kay Rogers; several nieces and nephews.

8/18/16 — Rhona June Dodd

doddFuneral services for Mrs. Rhona June Dodd, age 66 of Manchester, will be conducted on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Brother Dennis Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Dodd passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at her home.

Mrs. Dodd enjoyed nothing more than being with her family, traveling to Gatlinburg and fishing on the pontoon boat. She also had a love for flowers and always made sure that her flower beds were well taken care of. She loved to go shopping, especially at Walmart, and was known for playing her computer games on Facebook.

Preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Arlie Stevens; her brother, Marshal Stevens; her dog, “Little Man”. Survived by her husband of 49 years, R.L. Dodd; son, Bobby Dodd (Angie); daughters, Lori Melton, Angie Brandon (Chandra Scott), April Stephens (Jimmy Smithey); grandchildren, Brandon Phillips (Sasha), Adam Phillips (Heather), Luke Melton, Levi Melton, Kyle Arp, Kyrsten Smith, Whytley Driver, Timothy “George” Driver, Courtney Primus (Bradley), Paul Ponder, Dustin Dodd, Lacey Crouch, Shelby Crouch, Myla Dodd, Makayla Brewer (Jonathan), Austin Stephens; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; several in-laws; many special friends; her faithful companion, “Itty Bitty Rascal”.

flower vase 2Reva Joyce Lynn Cope age 84 died at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville,
August 14, 2016. Reva Joyce was born May 19, 1932, in McMinnville to the
late Jay and Vernice Mai Tosh Lynn. Reva Joyce and her late husband
Thomas Aaron Cope of 66 years made McMinnville their home. She is
survived by: a son; Thomas Lynn Cope, granddaughter; Chelsea Cope Hobbs
and her husband Zack, 2 grandsons; Brandon Bouldin and Brett Bouldin and
wife, Synthia, sister; Arnella “Nell” Ruth Williams and husband Eden M.
Williams, caregivers; Teresa Pitts and Angel Lance, niece; Darlene
Williams Towe and husband Steve R. Towe.

8/15/16 — George Herman Walls

2016-08-13_04-58-29-PM_GEORGEGEORGE HERMAN WALLS, age 79, of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, August 12, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Walls was born in Decherd, Tenn. to the late Calvin and Laura Mae Elliott Walls on March 30 1937. Mr. Walls was a member of the First Church of Jesus Christ in Tullahoma where he was the song leader for many years. Mr. Walls loved to sing and would sing on WJIG radio station before it closed. He loved to fish and watch the hummingbirds outside his windows. Mr. Walls was a kind, soft spoken man that loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; John, Charles and Jack Walls, and sisters; Jewel Gillespie and Judy Walls. He is survived by his wife, Sara Evelyn Bishop Walls of Tullahoma. Sons; Jerry (Faye) Walls, Ron (Peggy) Walls all of Winchester Springs, and Don (Tina) Walls of Winchester. Daughter, Renee (Kenneth) Gunn of Lynchburg, Tenn., 1-step-son, Freddie Lynn and step-daughter; Gennie Lynn. 4 Grandchildren; Shanna Gunn, Jarod Walls, Ryan Walls and Christopher Walls, 4-great-grandchildren, step-mother, Julie Partin Walls of Decherd, Tenn., brother, Dale Walls, 3 sisters; Evelyn Gipson, Nola Hill and Marguerite Powers all of Decherd, Tenn., several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Walls will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday evening in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 15, 2016, at First Church of Jesus Christ in Tullahoma with Bro. James Taylor and Bro. John Benge officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Tullahoma, Tenn.

8/14/16 — David E. Guffey

David E. Guffey of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away on Friday, August 12,
2016, at the age of 87. David was born in Scottsboro, Alabama. He was a
farmer and a carpenter, and later retired from Batesville Casket Company
after 23 years. He was a member of The Church of Christ.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Wade and Mary Lou
(Keasling) Guffey and a brother, Hobson Guffey. He is survived by his
wife of 70 years, Betty Dunn Guffey; a daughter, Daffey (Stanley) Harvey;
two grandsons, Kyle (Katie) Harvey and Kody Harvey, all of Murfreesboro,
TN; one sister, Martha Guffey Lawrence of Nashville, TN; a sister-in-law,
Mildred Dunn of Beechgrove, TN; three nieces, Tammy Lawrence of
Nashville, TN, Donna (Larry) Dunn of Beechgrove, TN, and Rhonda (Bill)
Nall of Thompson Station, TN; two nephews, Jeffery (Rita) Dunn of
Manchester and Jerry Dunn.

Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at
Manchester Funeral Home with Brother David Haley officiating. Burial
followed in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

8/14/16 — Lois Frances Lowe

Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Frances Lowe, age 79, of Manchester, TN
will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Manchester
Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jimmy Rigsby officiating. Burial will
follow in Gnat Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from
5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday evening at the funeral home. Lois
passed away at her residence on Thursday, August 11, 2016, surrounded by
her loving family.

Lois was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late J.W.
McCullough and Eula Ferrell McCullough. Clebern and Lois were the owners
of J & J Restaurant. If you ever visited there, you were sure to see
Lois and the rest of the family there, working or just hanging around.
More than once, she would have her grandbabies up there in a playpen
while she cooked.

In addition to her parents, Lois was also preceded in death by one son,
Michael Ray Lowe; one daughter, Angela Gay Lowe; and two brothers,
Darrell and Cordell McCullough. She is survived by her husband of many
years, Clebern Lowe; three children, Roger (Sherrie) Lowe, Deborah
Foster, and Laura Lowe; grandchildren, Kyle Lowe, Kristen (Jonason)
Daniel, Alison (Dillon) Burt, Adam (Jennifer) Hodge, Cody (Shayna) Hodge,
Chelsea Parker, and Taylor (Andrew) Lamb; great grandchildren, Adillon
Burt, Raine Hodge, Gavin Hodge, Lydia Hodge, Kylee Parker, Emerson Lamb,
Lincoln Lamb, and one on the way; two brothers, David McCullough and
Timmy McCullough; one sister, Marie Finney; and several nieces and
nephews.

8/13/16—Michael Wayne Rolling

Michael Wayne Rolling, 46, a resident of Tullahoma, TN passed away on
Wednesday, August 10, 2016. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for
Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 4 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel
with Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2
PM till the service.

Michael, a native of Alexander City, Alabama, was born on July 1, 1970. He
was the son of Timothy Hornsby of Alexander City, AL and the late Glenda
Faye Hornsby. He graduated from Faith Christian School in Milton, FL. He
was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Shelbyville. He enjoyed fishing,
hunting and playing disc golf and was a member of Da Mulligans Disc Golf
club. He was also an avid Auburn football fan. He loved sports and helped
coach his children’s baseball, football and basketball teams. His favorite
pastime was playing with his grandkids.

In addition to his father, he is survived by two sons, Phillip Michael
Rolling of Shelbyville and Isaac Ryan Rolling of Tullahoma; ex-wife, Tamera
Bird of Tullahoma; three grandchildren, Xavier Michael Rolling, Aubree Anna
Rolling and Phillip Grayson Rolling; special friends, Raymond Paul Johnson
of Milton, FL, Roger Dale Vick of Odessa, TX, Jon Morrow, Danny Pace, Tony
MacMahonn, Mark Simmons, David Steverson, Michael Spence, Greg McDonald,
Andy Stone and Korey Goodman, all of Tullahoma, Deland Smith of
Murfreesboro, Justin Matthews of Oregon, Adam Parks and Gary Robertson Jr,
both of Estill Springs and many other close friends.

Graveside services for Mr. Robert Levi “Bob” Cunningham, age 88 of Morrison, will be conducted on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Fountain Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. Cunningham passed away on August 11, 2016.

Mr. Cunningham was a United States Army veteran. He was an avid bird hunter. Being the great hunter that he was, he enjoyed his bird dogs, and loved nothing more than being on his farm.  

Preceded in death by his parents, George and Alice Simmons Cunningham; his infant son in 1952; two sisters, Georgiana Bryan and Mary Jo Swann. Ralph Eugene Carter
(April 12, 1933 – August 9, 2016)

Ralph Eugene Carter was born April 12, 1933 to the late William and Letha Carter of Beecher City, Illinois. Ralph worked in maintenance at the university before retiring. He loved baseball and was an avid cub fan. He and his late wife; Verna Hurst Carter resided at the Kingwood Arms of Manchester, Tennessee, he is also preceded in death by a sister; Ruby Essex, 2 brothers; Homer and George Carter, and a granddaughter; Stephanie Bradford. He is survived by 4 children, 2 daughters; Pamela Henson, of Manchester, Tennessee, Brenda and Virgil Herschberger, of Hillsboro, Tennessee, 2 sons; Roger and Jean Carter, of Huntley, of Illinois, and Dennis Carter of Manchester, Tennessee, a grandchild; Michele Taylor of Hillsboro, Tennessee, a sister; Ruth Kious, of Mattoon, and all the special friends at Kingwood Arms of Manchester, Tennessee.

Funeral services for Mr. Tommy Carol Nettles will be conducted on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brandon Stutts officiating and full military honors. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, August 12, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. Nettles passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Nettles was a Vietnam War veteran and was a retired Master Sgt. serving in the United States Army. He was also retired from the United States Postal Service. He was an avid fisherman, and attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his parents, Wyatt A. Nettles, Sr. and Ruth Kinney Nettles; his wife, Ruby Nettles. Survived by his son, John Nettles (Dani); step-son, Jeff Burks (Michelle); step-daughters, Cotanda Burks and Attonda Barnes (Rickey); brothers, John Robert Nettles (Betty), Wyatt A. Nettles, Jr. (Janet); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
