So Far No Debate Between Alexander and Carr

Lamar Alexander is showing little interest in taking up Joe Carr on a debate challenge in advance of the Republican Senate primary in August. Alexander told reporters in Nashville on Monday that there are seven candidates running for the GOP nomination and that it would be difficult to schedule them all to appear at once. Among the challengers, only Carr and Memphis radio station owner George Flinn have shown significant past campaign spending. DABS– Very Strong Form Of Marijuana Found At Bonnaroo

People are finding a new way to get high and it has found its way to Manchester. A new very strong form of marijuana (DABS) was recently found by Manchester Police at Bonnaroo. DABS are doses of cannabis concentrates that used to mostly refer to butane hash oil. The concentrate can be up to 80% THC, the active psychoactive compound in cannabis, but usually range between 50 and 75%. Three people were arrested at Bonnaroo for possession of DABS. Man Arrested For Shooting At Police Confesses To Car Burglaries

Shawn Luce of Florida was arrested June 19 after allegedly firing shots in the direction of Tullahoma Police officers. Manchester Police Chief Investigator Billy Butler says that since the man’s arrest he has cooperated with police concerning other crimes. Butler reports that Luce has provided information that has led to the solving of 60 car burglaries in Tullahoma, Manchester and in the rural area of Coffee County. “He confessed to the burglaries and it just snowballed from there,” Butler stated. AAA Travel projects 41 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the July 4th holiday weekend. That would be a 1.9 percent increase from the 40.3 million who traveled last year. The majority of travelers will be celebrating with a road trip, with more than eight in ten choosing to travel by automobile. Motlow To Offer New Degree and Certificate

Motlow College recently received approval from the Tennessee Board of Regents to offer a new associate of applied science degree in Paramedic and an Emergency Medical Paramedic certificate of credit, according to Drew Hooker, emergency medical services program coordinator at the college. The new degree and certificate will be offered at the Fayetteville Center. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) technical certificate programs will be offered at both the Fayetteville and McMinnville centers. Two Inmates On The Run

Two inmates from the Coffee County Jail walked away from a work detail on Thursday afternoon. According to Sheriff Steve Graves Cory Keele and Lillard Presley were working at the new Coffee County Middle School on Woodbury Highway in Manchester when they walked away. The sheriff stated that the pair had been working at the school this summer but they ran away around 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. They were spotted running to a cornfield near the school.
