So Far No Debate Between Alexander and Carr
Alexander told reporters in Nashville on Monday that there are seven candidates running for the GOP nomination and that it would be difficult to schedule them all to appear at once.
Among the challengers, only Carr and Memphis radio station owner George Flinn have shown significant past campaign spending. Alexander wouldn’t say whether he would insist on debating all of the candidates.
Alexander, a former two-term Tennessee governor, is running for a third term in the Senate this year. He said voters could find out about him on his website. Or, in his words: “Usually I’m walking down the street and they can ask me.”

DABS– Very Strong Form Of Marijuana Found At Bonnaroo
People are finding a new way to get high and it has found its way to Manchester. A new very strong form of marijuana (DABS) was recently found by Manchester Police at Bonnaroo. DABS are doses of cannabis concentrates that used to mostly refer to butane hash oil. The concentrate can be up to 80% THC, the active psychoactive compound in cannabis, but usually range between 50 and 75%. Three people were arrested at Bonnaroo for possession of DABS.
DABS are mostly smoked through certain types of electronic cigarettes or a Bong because they can heat the drug.
DABS started in California and Colorado and has been slowly moving eastward as word spread on the Internet and other sources.
DABS come from marijuana but is a lot more powerful than the normal “joint” smoked by users. Heated Butane gas is used to extract the sticky oil from the plant.
Manchester Police have a couple of jars that were seized as well as small containers of the gooey liquid, the cases look like something lip balm would come in.
Manchester Police Chief Mark Yother says, “I am afraid that this product is here to stay and that we will be seeing more of DABS in the coming days.
A fear that some police officers in the area that we talk to are afraid that this could become as dangerous as or more dangerous than methamphetamines.
During Bonnaroo Manchester Police seized dabs in 42 electronic cigarettes, 197 rubber containers, two glass jars and three larger containers, and 106 plastic bags containing five grams of marijuana in each and a plastic-wrapped pound of pot, the report states. Officers also seized more than $14,000 in cash and 16 grams of psychedelic mushrooms.

While officers were interviewing the apparent female victim, she stated that Shawn Michael Luce, 25, had gotten out of the car and took the keys and grabbed two weapons. As officers were talking to the woman approximately 6 shots were fired in their vicinity. The officer and victim moved to a near-by parking lot at Normandy Road and Flower Town Road. At 11:28 pm more shots were fired rapidly. On June 19 officers located Luce behind a house on Ralph Broadrick Road. He started to run and Tullahoma officers Tyler Hatfield, Sam Campbell and Johnny Gore along with Sheriff’s deputy Brandon Reed and Investigator James Sherrill chased him down and caught him at 1188 Riley Creek Road.
He was later booked into the Coffee County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and illegal possession of a weapon.

Wheel Tax or No Wheel Tax, That Is The Question
One of the bigger questions going on around Coffee County is whether there will be a property tax increase, a wheel tax or some type of combination to fund current projects and everyday day needs of the county? The answer is no one knows at this point.
At this week’s county commission meeting a discussion took place about if commissioners would place a referendum on the November ballot for a wheel tax. Commissioners delayed action and have until August 21 to decide, which is after the county election to be held on August 7.
In other action the commission approved the jail budget that includes extra operating cost at the new jail and keeping the workhouse program open.
The commission voted 17-1 to cut a $93,000 budget request to the Coffee County School System.
County commissioners also debated on giving county workers the day off on Election Day, the day off has been given to workers for several years. The vote was in favor of changing the policy so workers will no longer have the day off.
