A late rally fell short as the Westwood Rockets football team dropped a heart-breaking 20 to 16 decision to Eagleville on Thursday night at Eagleville. The Rockets, who led 8 to 6 at the half, saw Eagleville storm back to score twice in the 3rd quarter. Westwood got one touchdown back but their last possession ended on downs to kill the comeback attempt in the final minute.
Reynaldo Ramirez scored both Westwood touchdowns and Trenton Thompson added both 2 point conversions for the Rockets. Ramirez scored the first one in the first quarter and added the 2nd touchdown with 4:42 left in the game. The loss drops Westwood to 3 and 4 overall and 3 and 4 in conference play. Westwood will play host to Saint Rose of Murfreesboro on Thursday night in a non-conference game. Kickoff is set for 6:30.
