Westwood Earns Split at Forrest on Monday

The Westwood Rockets and Lady Rockets split a doubleheader on the road at Forrest on Monday night. The Lady Rockets fell by a final score of 40 to 22. The Rockets clawed their way to a 37 to 35 come from behind win.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Rockets fell in an early 15 point hole and could not recover as they lost to their conference rivals from Chapel Hill. Haidyn Campbell and Allie Roberts each had 6 points to lead the Lady Rockets in scoring. Roberts connected on a pair of 3 pointers for Westwood while Campbell netted 4 of her points in an 11 point 4th quarter rally by the Lady Rockets.

After trailing at the end of each quarter entering the 4th quarter, the Rockets put together the game winning rally to nab the huge conference win. Five points in the final quarter by Cruz Pitsinos helped spark the Westwood rally. Trenton Thompson was the leading scorer for the Rockets as he finished with 12 points. Pitsinos added 7 points and Wyatt Nugent finished the game with 6 points for Westwood.
