Raiders Fall In Opening Game

The Coffee County Red Raider baseball team opened the 2015 season hosting District 8-AAA foe Shelbyville. After the first inning the Raiders led the Eagles 3-1. Shelbyville cut it to 3-2 with a run in the fourth. In the 6th the Eagles plated 5 runs to take a 7-3 advantage. That score held up as the Raiders dropped game one of the year.
Stanton Keele had 2 hits and an RBI for Coffee County and was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game. Trace Friedlein added a hit and an RBI. Friedlein pitched the first 4 innings and had 9 K’s.
The Raiders will travel to Shelbyville for a 4:30 varsity start. The JV game will follow the varsity game.
