The Motlow Lady Bucks handed new head coach Aaron Holland his first victory while enjoying the sixth-largest win in school history as they traveled to Dayton, Tenn. and beat the Bryan College team 89-41 Friday night in their season opener. Vanderbilt dominated Kentucky on offense, defense and special teams Saturday to jump to a 27-point halftime lead and coast to a 40-0 win. The Commodores (5-4, 3-3 Southeastern Conference) scored touchdowns on 4 of their five first-half drives, none of which took longer than 4 minutes, 19 seconds. Motlow Wins Opening Games
The Lady Bucks opened the season with an 89-41 thrashing of Bryan College in Dayton, TN Friday night. The 48-point margin of victory is the 6th-largest in school history. Congratulations to coach Aaron Holland on his first win as coach of the Motlow ladies. The Motlow Bucks opened the 2012 season with a 96-62 win over Bryan College. Motlow To Open Basketball Season
The Motlow Bucks and Lady Bucks will open the 2012-13 basketball season when they travel to Dayton, Tenn., to face Bryan College teams tonight (Friday, Nov. 2). Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. central time. On November 1, 2010 the Bucks scored 123 points against Bryan, the third-highest total in school history. Later in the same season, on January 19, 2011, the Bucks allowed Bryan only 26 points, setting a new school record for fewest points allowed in a game. Preds Alumni Game Set
With the NHL locked out and no end in site the Nashville Predators are turning back the clock. The Predators will battle the St. Louis Blues in an alumni game for charity next month. The teams will meet Saturday, November 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the A-Game Sportsplex in Franklin. A $5 donation will be accepted at the door. All of the money raised will benefit Hurricane Sandy relief, as well as the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
