Youth Baseball State Tournament Begins Saturday

Four teams from the Manchester Youth Baseball League begin play on Friday in their respective divisions of the Tennessee Youth Baseball Association State Tournament in Murfreesboro. The 9 & 10 year old all-star team and the 13 to 16 year old Manchester A’s will begin play at 5 PM at Barfield Crescent Park. The 9 & 10’s will play on Field #1, while the A’s will be on Field #4. The 11 & 12 year all-stars will get under way at 6:30 on Field #2 and the 13 to 16 all-stars will also start at 6:30 on Field #4. Manchester Mustangs Track Team To Compete On Friday

The Manchester Mustangs Youth track team will compete in the All-Star Sports track meet on Friday at Warren County Middle School. The Mustangs will compete against Warren County in the dual meet that will get started at 5:30 PM. The Mustangs are coming off an impressive performance at the Hershey’s Track and Field Games state meet on June 21st. The building of the 2014-15 Motlow Bucks’ basketball roster continues with the recent announcement by Head Coach Matt Sligh that he has signed Terry Holt from East Nashville Magnet High School. Football Is Back

With the conclusion of the dead period, the Central High School, Coffee County Middle School and Westwood Middle School football teams dusted off their helmets on Monday. With the first day of workouts in full pads not until July 21st, all 3 teams were able to get on the practice field in helmets and shorts to begin conditioning and fundamental work leading into fall camp. Stout Signs To Play College Golf With TSU

On Monday evening Andy Stout a recent graduate of Coffee County High School signed scholarship papers to play college golf for Tennessee St University in Nashville. Stout was a 4 year starter for the Red Raiders and was named All-District all of those seasons. He earned team MVP honors for 3 years. Last season Stout played in number one slot most of year that saw the Raiders set many school records including 96 wins out of 103 matches. Any CCCHS student who is interested in running on the Coffee County High School Cross Country team this upcoming fall should go by the high school office to pick up an information packet. Enclosed in the packet are things such as physical forms, running information, a mileage log sheet, and a tentative meet schedule for the upcoming season. Coffee County Middle School Baseball tryouts will be held on 7/12/14 at the Manchester Babe Ruth field at Deadman Park from 9am to 11am for 6th grade, 11am to 1pm for 7th grade and 1pm to 4pm for 8th grade you must bring a current physical dated after April 15 2013.
