Raiders Compete In McMinnville Tournament

The Coffee County girl’s golf team finished 3rd in the Keith Maxwell tournament in McMinnville with a 178. Hollee Sadler led the way with a 78. Jacque Crossland won the long drive competition. The Lady Raiders’ record is now 58-3 on the year. In boys play Coffee County finished 10th with a score of 358. Lady Raiders Compete In Volleyball Tournament

Things were looking good for Coffee County on Friday night as the Red Raiders jumped to an early lead over Rhea County. In the home opener Coffee County got on the scoreboard first when Jimmy Hollandsworth connected with Cody Howes on a 71-yard TD pass to take a 6-0 advantage. The bad news, the Raiders would not score again falling 42-6 to the Eagles. Rhea County returned almost all their starters from last year’s team that made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Westwood Soccer Draws With Community

The Lady Rockets soccer team fought to a 2 to 2 draw on Thursday evening at Dyer-Bouldin with visiting Community.  The Lady Rockets outshot the Vikqueens 11 to 4 on the match, and 5 to 1 in the last 15 minutes, but could never get the go-ahead goal.  The Lady Rockets got on the board first in the 7th minute as Reyna Flores sent a brilliant across the goal face past Community’s diving keeper.  Community tied it in the 18th minute and looked to seize the momentum, but the Lady Rockets rallied getting 2 great scoring chances that they...

Raiders Host Golf Tournament

(L-R) Hollee Sadler, Jacque Crossland and Savannah Quick   Wednesday at Willowbrook Golf Course the Coffee County golf teams hosted the Lawrence Family Motors Invitational. The Warren County Pioneers won both the boys and girls divisions. The Pioneer boys shot a team score of 298. The Coffee County boys finished in 5th place out of 16 teams. Coffee Middle Football Claims the Coffee Cup from Tullahoma

The Coffee County Middle School football team got 3 touchdowns and an interception from Robert Brandon as they claimed a 38 to 14 win over Tullahoma in the annual Coffee Cup game.  Brandon had touchdown runs of 3 yards and 1 yard in the first half before Andrew Mahaffey hit a streaking Trace Bryant on the left sideline for a 39 yard TD pass to give the Raiders a quick 18 to 0 lead.  After a Tullahoma touchdown, Coffee Middle led 18 to 6 at halftime.  The 3rd quarter started out as a defensive struggle before Blanton Brown rumbled...

The Westwood girls’ soccer team defeated Liberty Middle School by a final of 8 to 2 on Tuesday. Jessica Barrera had an incredible game as she scored 6 goals. Beatrice Barrera and Natalie Elzeer added a goal each. The Lady Rockets will host Community on Thursday at Dyer-Bouldin Field.
