In middle school football action on Thursday night the Westwood Rockets hosted Eagleville. Rocket Byron Sullivan got the scoring started with a 31 yard TD on the reverse. Westwood led Eagleville 6 to 0 with 7:46 left in first half. Eagleville scored twice in the 2nd quarter and got both 2-point conversions to lead 16-6 at halftime. The TSSAA State Golf Tournament wrapped up on Wednesday in Manchester for Class AAA high school teams. The Coffee County Lady Raiders finished as state runner-up with a two-day total 302. Senior Hollee Sadler completed her two days with a 1-under 143, good for 3rd place overall. Sophomore Savannah Quick posted a 79 on day-2, good for 17th overall. With a roster that returns five players from last season, three more who were Motlow redshirts, and 10 newcomers with sterling credentials, the Motlow Bucks appear to be in position to challenge for the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) championship. The Coffee County Central High School volleyball claimed the regular season District 8AAA volleyball title on Tuesday night with a dominating straight set win at Franklin County. The Lady Raiders dispatched the Lady Rebels by set scores of 25 to 7, 25 to 8 and 25 to 10 to improve their record to 26 & 12 on the year and 9 and 1 in district play. It was a battle for the Central Tennessee Conference regular season football championship Tuesday night in Manchester. The Middle School Raiders hosted the Warriors of White County. The Raiders took an early advantage with 3:48 left in 1st quarter on a Weston Hargroves 2-yard TD run. Just before halftime White County took the lead on touchdown run and 2-point conversion. The Coffee County Middle School soccer team hosted Algood on Monday night at the CHS field in a makeup game from August. Allie Amado got a first half goal to send the game into the half even at 1. Algood notched their one goal on a corner kick. In the second half, the Lady Raiders cranked up the offensive pressure outshooting the visitors from Putnam County.
