It’s Pink Out Time In Coffee County!
This fall 35 high schools across Tennessee are trading their traditional school colors for the pink jerseys for the fight against breast cancer. One of those schools is Coffee County High School. The Red Raiders are hosting Pink Out Night on Friday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m. at Carden-Jarrell Field when they host Lincoln County. 6th Grade Raiders Pick Up Basketball Wins
Playing on consecutive nights to start the season now looks like an excellent strategy as the Coffee County Middle School 6th grade basketball teams got a pair of wins at South on Tuesday night. The Lady Raiders used a tough defense to throttle the Lady Trojans 45 to 10. Seven Lady Raiders tallied points on the night as Coffee County scored double digits in each quarter. NHL All-Star Game Headed To Nashville In 2016
The National Hockey League is expected to announce at a Friday press conference in Nashville that the 2016 NHL All-Star game will be played at Bridgestone Arena. The league announced a press conference for a major announcement on Friday at Bridgestone Arena. The Predators submitted a bid to host the 2016 game in June. Coffee County Volleyball Falls in Region 4AAA Tournament
The 8 seniors that make up the senior class for the Coffee County Lady Raider volleyball team have accomplished a lot in their high school careers, including 3 straight trips to the region tournament. But the accomplishment of advancing to the first sectional berth in the program’s 9 year history will have to wait for another class as Blackman ended the Raider season in the Region 4AAA semifinals. Middle School Basketball Season Opened On Monday
The Westwood Middle School and Coffee County Middle School 6th grade teams opened the 2014 basketball season on Monday night. In both pairs of contests, the girls won while the boys came up short in the road contests. Westwood opened the season at Moore County while Coffee Middle was at North Franklin. Westwood girls got a 30 to 16 win at Moore County. Morgan Jones and Ashley Starks each poured in 11 points to lead the Lady Rockets in scoring. Closing out their inaugural season in glorious fashion, the Westwood Cross Country teams finished strong at the Mid-State Cross Country Association Regional Championship in Smyrna on Saturday. The boys’ varsity team finished 11th out of 22 teams as 183 runners competed in the boys’ varsity race. Samuel Workman finished the 2 mile course at 13:05 which placed in the top 25 after Saturdays meet and qualified him for the State Championship Meet to be held this Saturday in Knoxville. CHS Cross Country Competes in Mid State Cross Country Association Championship
Battling rainy conditions and the absence of several runners, the Coffee County CHS Track team competed in the Mid State Cross Country Association Championship on Saturday in Smyrna. The Red Raider runners finished 21st as a team out of 49 teams and were again paced by Andy Rosson who ran the 5K course in 18:32 to finish in 16th place out of more than 300 runners.
