SOFTBALL: 3 Lady Raiders named to NFCA South All-Region Team

Keri Munn Continue to add postseason accolades for the Coffee County Central Lady Raider softball team following the teams historic 2021 season. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association revealed that 158 student-athletes have been voted to the 2021 NFCA High School All-Region team. In the South Region – Coffee County had three players selected. Coffee County’s Keri Munn was named first team pitcher. Coffee County Central High School athletic department transition to new athletic directors becomes official on Thursday, July 1. Wednesday, June 30 was the final day on the clock for AD Rebecca Koger. She will remain at the school as a teacher. New football jumbotron installation beginning this week

Ground is being broken and the beginning stages of installation are underway this week to erect the brand new jumbotron and scoreboard at Carden-Jarrell Field in Manchester. Installation is expected to be done before the Raider football season begins Aug. 20. This digital board will have a 16 feet by 32 feet viewing screen that is coupled with an additional 7 feet by 20 feet secondary digital board for regulation scoreboard. The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) mandatory dead period begins on Monday, June 28 and will end on Monday, July 12. The dead period prohibits TSSAA coaches from having athletic contact with athletes. The return from the dead period marks the first official practice for high school golf.
