CHS Wrestlers Split a Pair of Matches on Thursday Night

The Coffee County Central High School wrestling team welcomed Siegel and Franklin County to The Meat Grinder on Thursday night for a dual meet. The powerhouse team from Siegel swept both matches while Coffee County got a win over Franklin County. In the Siegel match Coffee County got an overtime, come from behind decision win from Rein Bozich in the 138 pound weight class and Josh Tobbit(182) got a pin for the Raider’s 9 points. In a pair of exciting games that came down to the wire, the Coffee County Raiders and Lady Raiders swept a doubleheader from Fayetteville on Tuesday night at the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gym. The Coffee County Middle School Lady Raiders closed out the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule on Monday night with a 47 to 27 conference win over Warren County. Russell’s OT Goal Lifts Flames Past Predators

  Defenseman Kris Russell scored 1:23 into overtime to give the Calgary Flames a 2-1 win against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday. Forward Johnny Gaudreau led a 2-on-1 rush and fed a pass to Russell, who was able to get to the puck and beat Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne for his second goal. Westwood Rockets Season Comes to a Close in Postseason Tournament
