Manchester Police Department has accepted the challenge from the Manchester City School System to a charity basketball game to raise money for the Aaron Hill family. Donations will be accepted in lieu of admission and all proceeds will go to the family. The Hill family lost two children in a horrible vehicle crash in Winchester on New Years Eve. Dominic Tharpe has submitted his resignation as head coach of the Motlow State Community College Lady Bucks’ basketball program, effectively immediately, according to Motlow Athletic Director Laura Monks. Motlow men’s assistant coach Arthur Latham has been named interim head coach of the Lady Bucks. Aerial Williams scored the first 7 points of the game on Friday night in Columbia as the Coffee County Lady Raiders defeated the Lady Lions 54 to 40. The Coffee County CHS Wrestling team competed in the Vibe Nutrition Red Hawk Rampage on Saturday at Stewarts Creek High School against some of their best competition of the season. The Raiders earned 46 team points to finish in 12th place in the 20 team meet. The highlight of the day was the performance of Josh Tobitt who placed 2nd at 182 pounds.
