Outscoring the home standing Lady Tigers 43 to 4 in the first half, the Coffee County Middle School Lady Raiders rolled to a 68 to 15 on Friday night in Morrison. Nine different Lady Raiders scored on the night in the non-conference battle. Julia Duncan led the Lady Raiders in scoring with 24 points. Journey Arnold and Sarah West each finished with 8 points. Marissa Douglas and Jade Arnold each scored 6 points.
The Red Raiders shot a disappointing 3 for 16 at the free throw line in the boys’ game helped Coffee County drop a 45 to 37 decision to Morrison. Four 3 point baskets by Coffee County, and a good team effort on the night, were not enough to lift the Raiders to an upset win. Brandon Jernigan led Coffee County in scoring with 10 points. Jaxon Vaughn had 9 points including a pair of 3 pointers. Larson Meltzer finished with 7 points.
Coffee County returns to conference play on Monday night when they return home to face Warren County. The girls game is set to get underway at 6 PM. Thunder Radio will be on hand to bring you the broadcast of those games. We will begin our broadcast with the Powers Storage Pregame Show at 5:50.
