Saluki Softball, and former Lady Raider, pitcher Brianna Jones was named Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Monday. Jones went 3-1 with an 0.42 ERA in 16.2 innings over four appearances this weekend. Jones was dominant at the USF Under Armour Showcase this weekend, appearing in four of the five games and piling up three wins to improve to 10-3 this season. The Coffee County CHS tennis teams got a pair of wins on Tuesday afternoon in their first district contest of the season as they hosted Franklin County at Fred Deadman Park. The Westwood Rocket soccer team continued to show its dominance on Tuesday night with a 7 to 0 win over Webb in Bell Buckle.
