CHS Soccer Advances to District Finals with Shutout Win

The Coffee County Lady Raider soccer team punched their ticket to the Region 4AAA Tournament on Tuesday night with a 1 to 0 win over Franklin County. The district tournament semifinal win sends Coffee County to Fayetteville on Thursday night as the Lady Raiders seek a District 8AAA title when they take on Lincoln County. Despite the low score, Coffee County controlled the time of possession and shots as they out shot the Rebelettes 22 to 5 in the match. The Coffee County Lady Raider golf team will enter Wednesday’s final round of the TSSAA State Golf Tournament at Willowbrook in 4th place. The Lady Raiders shot a first round score of 157 to trail first place Clarksville who fired a 151. Ashley Gilliam had the low round for the Lady Raiders on Tuesday as she fired a 6 over par 78. The Region semifinals continues to be the glass ceiling for the Lady Raider volleyball team as they fell to Siegel in straight sets on Tuesday night. The Coffee County Middle School 6th grade basketball teams opened their season on Monday night at home with a pair of impressive blowout wins over East Tullahoma. A pair of Coffee County Middle School Red Raider football team members were honored on Saturday as they were named to the 2016 All-Conference team. Eighth graders Marshall Haney and Kyle Farless were honored following Saturday’s CTC Championship game in McMinnville. Warren County Middle defeated Tullahoma Middle in the CTC Championship by a final score of 26 to 12.
