The Coffee County CHS tennis teams hosted their old rival Tullahoma on Monday afternoon at the Raider Academy. Despite an 11 day layoff, the Raider netters fought to a split with the visiting Cats. The Lady Raiders fell 7 to 0 while the Red Raiders won 6 to 1. In girls play, Coffee County was swept in the 5 singles matches. Middle School Golf Teams Split on Opening Day
The Coffee County Middle School and Westwood Middle School golf teams opened up the 2018 season on Monday with a home match at Willowbrook. The Raiders teed off against Tullahoma while the Rockets battled the Tigers of Fayetteville. For the 2nd year in a row, the middle schoolers used the “flag scoring” system with a 2 person scramble format. In Westwood’s match with Fayetteville, the Rockets fell 7 ½ to 4 ½. Trying to break their first 2 game losing streak of the year, the Westwood baseball hosted Fayetteville on Monday at Looney Riddle Field. Hosting their final home game of the year and celebrating 8th Grade Night, the Rockets fell in a heartbreaking 4 to 3 contest. The Coffee County CHS softball team hosted non-district rival Cascade on Monday night at Terry Floyd Field. Coming off a loss to the Lady Champions last year, Coffee County had extra incentive to stop their 2 game losing streak. The Westwood tennis teams traveled to Tullahoma on Monday for a match with Tullahoma. The Lady Rockets battled the Cats to the final match before falling 4 to 3.
