The Coffee County Lady Raider volleyball team hosted the Southern Slam Tournament on Saturday. Playing matches at the Coffee County Middle School, the Raider Academy and Central High School, The Lady Raiders welcomed 16 teams to town. Hosting their first meet of the year, the Coffee County CHS cross country team welcomed 16 high school and middle school teams to the Old Stone Fort State Park on Tuesday. Included in the field were the middle school teams from Coffee County Middle School and Westwood Middle School. The Lady Eagle varsity volleyball team of Temple Baptist Christian captured the title of the Lady Eagle Invitational on Friday. Temple finished the tournament with a 6 and 0 record. The Manchester Youth Football League welcomed Fayetteville to Carden-Jarrell Field on Saturday. The Raiders dropped a pair of games in the tripleheader against the Tigers. Making the short ride to Wartrace, the Westwood football team visited Cascade on Thursday night.
