The Coffee County Lady Raider volleyball team hosted the Southern Slam Tournament on Saturday.  Playing matches at the Coffee County Middle School, the Raider Academy and Central High School, The Lady Raiders welcomed 16 teams to town.  Finishing the day with a record of 2 and 3, the Lady Raiders qualified for the for the Golf Bracket finals before being eliminated. Hosting their first meet of the year, the Coffee County CHS cross country team welcomed 16 high school and middle school teams to the Old Stone Fort State Park on Tuesday.  Included in the field were the middle school teams from Coffee County Middle School and Westwood Middle School. The Lady Eagle varsity volleyball team of Temple Baptist Christian captured the title of the Lady Eagle Invitational on Friday.  Temple finished the tournament with a 6 and 0 record.  Temple captured the tournament title with a pair of match wins over South Haven of Springfield. The Manchester Youth Football League welcomed Fayetteville to Carden-Jarrell Field on Saturday.  The Raiders dropped a pair of games in the tripleheader against the Tigers.  The Division 1 Raiders fell 28 to 6 to Fayetteville.  The Division 2 Raiders won 33 to 6.  The Division 3 Raiders fell by a final score of 27 to 0. Coming off a huge win at home on Tuesday night, the Lady Raider soccer team of CHS visited Shelbyville on Thursday night.  Squaring off against the Eaglettes, Coffee County was to avenge an earlier draw with Shelbyville as well as their second district win in a row.  After racing out to a 2 to 0 lead at the half, the Lady Raiders had to settle for a 2 to 2 tie. Making the short ride to Wartrace, the Westwood football team visited Cascade on Thursday night.  In a game delayed 45 minutes in the 2nd quarter by lightning, Westwood went to the halftime down 8 to 6.  Cascade held off a late Westwood drive to capture a 30-22 win over the Rockets.
