Tullahoma has a new softball coach. David Cardwell turned in his resignation Tuesday night. Former Motlow College softball coach Gary Barfield has been tabbed to replace Cardwell. Like Cardwell, Barfield is a Tullahoma High School graduate. Barfield spent 14 years as head coach at Motlow College before resigning at the end of the 2011 season. Soap Box Derby Is Saturday
The 13th annual Tullahoma Soap Box Derby will be held this Saturday. 60 boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 17 are making final preparations on their cars to get ready to compete for a shot for the coveted trip to Akron, Ohio, for the 75th All-American Soap Box Derby in late July. Registration has begun for the 2012 Motlow College Elite/Skills Basketball Camp, scheduled to be held from June 18-20 at Copperweld Arena on the Moore County campus, according to Motlow head men’s basketball coach Jerry Nichols. Events To Honor Former Titans Coach And Raise Awareness
Washington coach Mike Shanahan, St. Louis coach Jeff Fisher and Houston coach Gary Kubiak will be taking part in a silent auction and golf tournament raising money for a foundation named for their late friend, the former NFL assistant coach Mike Heimerdinger. The dinner and silent auction is set for June 28 followed by the golf tournament June 29 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.
