In college basketball action on Tuesday night Motlow hosted Wallace State. In the ladies game the Lady Bucks fell behind by 10 at halftime and had difficulty dealing with the great shooting of the Lady Lions falling by the score of 79 – 62. The Lady Bucks were led by, Sabrina Jackson and Erin Layne with 13 each.
In the men’s game the Bucks hosted the 25th ranked Lions. Motlow was attempting to defeat the second ranked team they have played this season. The Bucks defeated Columbia State, the 4th ranked team in the nation earlier in the season.
After grabbing an eight point lead at halftime the Bucks held on to pull out the 76-70 win. DaQuan Miller led Motlow with 20 points and Deandre Downey added 17 along with double digit rebounds and 8 blocked shots. The win improves the Bucks record to 8 – 1 on the season.
Motlow will return to action on Tuesday night as they travel to Boaz, Al. for games against Snead State.
