Kaylee Skipper scattered 7 hits and Tori Bell and Shelby Scrivnor each smacked 2 out, RBI doubles to lead the Coffee County Lady Raider softball team to a 2 to 1 district win over Lawrence County on Monday night at Terry Floyd Field. Abby Woods scored in the 1st inning as she reached on an error and trotted home on Scrivnor’s RBI double. The Lady Raiders, who finished with 7 hits themselves, failed to score in the 4th inning when they had the bases loaded and no one out in a tie game. The winning rally came in the 5th inning when Scrivnor had a 2 out single. Tori Bell laced a fast ball over the left fielders head scoring pinch runner Danielle Baker all the way from first base. Scrivnor and Kasarah Scheller each had a single and a double to lead the Lady Raiders in hitting. For her game winning RBI, Tori Bell was named the Thunder Radio player of the game. The win improves Coffee County’s district record to 2 and 0 on the year. The Lady Raiders are off until Thursday when they begin play in the Warrior Classic in Murfreesboro. The Lady Raiders will take on Independence at 8 PM Thursday night at Stewarts Creek High School. The Lady Raiders will also be in play on Friday and Saturday.
