The Motlow Lady Bucks continued to show improvement over the weekend despite dropping a pair of Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) contests on their annual road trip to west Tennessee.
The Lady Bucks (2-14, 1-8) went to Dyersburg on Friday and fell 68-59 to Dyersburg State, then traveled to Memphis on Saturday and came up short 80-75 to Southwest Tennessee. Both Motlow teams will continue conference play this weekend when they head to Gallatin to play Volunteer State. Tipoff for the women’s contest is 2 p.m.
Friday night in Dyersburg the Lady Bucks only trailed by a point, 33-32, at halftime but were not able to overcome the Lady Eagles’ lead.
Saturday afternoon in Memphis was similar in the first half as the Lady Bucks led the Lady Saluqis 32-30. Southwest Tennessee dominated the paint though, outrebounding Motlow 62-42. The game was marred by fouls, with the two teams combining to shoot 80 free throws. Each squad converted 27 of their attempts.
